The former Via Lattea Cosmetics has always placed a love of nature and skincare at the heart of what we do. This commitment remains unchanged, but we are now ready to take a step forward by integrating respect for animals and the environment even more fully into our day-to-day practices.

A Journey of Ethics and Innovation
We met Guido about ten years ago; at the time, he was the owner of a farm in Dossena, in the province of Bergamo. That collaboration led to the creation of Via Lattea Cosmetics, a unique range of cosmetics made with fresh mountain donkey’s milk.
Over the years, the formulations of our cosmetics have evolved. Today, Via Lattea Cosmetics is reinventing itself with the Cosmetica gentile project. This new range stands out for the ethical nature of its processes and the quality of the cosmetics on offer. Our mission is to create cosmetics that respect both people and animals, whilst maintaining a fully ethical approach.
The main feature of Cosmetica Gentile’s lunabianca cosmetics is the use of donkey milk as the primary active ingredient, in contrast to most cosmetics on the market, which mainly use water. When reading the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients), it is clear that donkey milk appears near the top of the ingredients list in our cosmetics, indicating its predominant role in the formula.
Donkey’s milk is renowned for its countless skin-benefiting properties. Combined with ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and argan oil, our cosmetics offer a wide range of benefits, providing genuine active ingredients rather than simply solutions diluted in water.
Via Lattea Cosmetics, through its COSMETICA GENTILE range, continues to innovate whilst remaining true to its values of quality, ethics and respect for nature, offering cosmetics that really make a difference to the skin.
Our mission
Most of us live immersed in a world dominated by artificial light, creating a hazy veil that obscures even the clearest of nights. This light pollution has distanced us from the splendour of the night sky, making us strangers to its majesty. Let us recall the sense of wonder we felt the first time we stood beneath the celestial dome of a planetarium, filled with thousands of stars, and the feeling of being lost in the face of the infinity of those moving points of light.
However, modern humans no longer seem to feel the need to gaze at the sky and recognise its extraordinary role. For ancient peoples, observing the sky was essential for survival and development. The stars served as a map, a clock and a calendar, and represented the presence of supernatural powers. The constellations, imbued with life and spirit, became repositories of myths and legends, an integral part of daily life, representing human and animal figures.
Animals, which have always been a source of sustenance for humankind, feature in no fewer than 37 of the 88 official constellations, not to mention the three depictions of mythical creatures and the names of numerous nebulae. A starry sky reminds us of the crucial role animals play in our lives – a role that is often overlooked and relegated to mere background. So let us look up at the sky and try to connect with nature, respecting it and embracing its most wholesome qualities.
For this reason, we have chosen to launch a project that focuses on the relationship between animals and humans, promoting wellbeing and health. Our aim is not merely to create consumer cosmetics, but to adopt an innovative approach to living on earth… and in the heavens too. We are proud to present ‘Via Lattea Cosmetics’, inspired by nature and illuminated by the stars.

In line with the philosophy of “Via Lattea Cosmetics”, we have launched a project that combines human beauty with respect for the animal world, promoting the wellbeing of both through the production of sustainable and cruelty-free cosmetics. The company is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of all, by supporting responsible animal husbandry, where respect for their lives and habitats is a priority. This means ensuring that the animals involved in production are treated with love, care and respect, providing them with adequate space, a balanced diet and veterinary care, as well as husbandry practices that respect their natural behaviour.
The project is based on a production philosophy that celebrates beauty without compromising on ethics or the environment. That is why we have named it “Cosmetica Gentile® by Via Lattea Cosmetics”. Cosmetica Gentile® adopts cruelty-free production policies, eschewing animal testing in favour of alternative methods, such as in vitro testing and the use of ingredients that are already approved and safe. This commitment is also reflected in the choice of ingredients, with a preference for sustainable sources.
